  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced (red, green, and yellow)

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup beef broth

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 tbsp olive oil


  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and sauté until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the bell peppers, diced tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • In a large baking dish, spread out half of the beef mixture. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Repeat with the remaining beef mixture and cheese.
  • Top the casserole with breadcrumbs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
