Oreo Truffles

I really like edible wedding souvenirs. When I saw the truffles made from Oreo cookies, I found them to be perfect for any wedding event. All you have to do is put them in a beautiful box with a ribbon, and the delight of your guests is guaranteed!

To make about 40 pieces, you will need:

1 bag of Oreo cookies (I recommend double mint-filled cookies);
1 bag (about 240 g) of cream cheese;
½ teaspoon vanilla extract;
450 g milk chocolate (crumb or chips);
225 g white chocolate (crumb or chips);
1 tablespoon shortening (cooking fat for baking).

Preparation:

The first thing to do is to crack the Oreo into small pieces. Pour everything into the bowl of a blender and grind the cookies into fine crumbs.
In a separate bowl, put the cream cheese. In the same place pour the finely crumbled Oreo, add the vanilla extract and mix with a mixer until homogeneous.
Cover the baking tray with wax paper. Roll 40 small balls from the prepared dough. Place them on the prepared baking tray. Place the pieces for fragrant truffles in the cold for 45 minutes.

While the dough is cooling, melt milk chocolate in a water bath. For smoothness, you should add 1 tablespoon of shortening (cooking fat for baking), and knead well.
Dip each truffle ball into the chocolate mixture. Using a small fork, roll it in the bowl with the chocolate so that the ball is coated on all sides with the glaze.

Take it out of the bowl and hold it on the fork for a while to let the excess drain off. Return the glazed cookies to the baking tray.
When all the truffles have gone through the milk chocolate bath, it’s time for a splash of white chocolate. For the mint truffles, you should add a little green food coloring to the white chocolate.
Done! Not only do the truffles look great, they taste great too!
