Cherry jam with starch – Cooking recipes

This thick dessert is an important culinary aid. Especially since it can and should be stocked for the winter. An excellent addition to any confectionery, cakes and ice cream, porridges and simply as a spread on bread or cookies. A simple berry stick recipe for any sweet occasion in the kitchen.
Ingredients:

2 kg cherries.
350 grams of sugar
5 tablespoons potato starch
1 cup cold water
half lemon juice

How to prepare:

Wash the cherries, get rid of the seeds. Transfer to a saucepan, cover with sugar, stir, and set aside for a couple of hours.

After the berries give syrup, bring everything to a boil. Cook over low heat until slightly soft, stirring. Squeeze the lemon juice over the berries.

Combine the starch and water. Pour it over the hot cherries, stirring thoroughly. Boil for another 5 minutes, without allowing it to burn. Constantly stir until the end of cooking.

Prepare in advance clean, pasteurized, scalded with boiling water canning jars. Pour still heated jam in jars, screw up and immediately turn upside down. Leave to cool.
